Inge Stolen
Senior Investment Manager Norfund

Inge Stølen is the Senior Investment Manager for Renewable Energy for Norfund, the Norwegian Investment Fund for Developing Countries. He is working on all technologies of renewable energy investments in South East Asia out of Norfund’s office in Bangkok and is serving as the Norfund Project Manager or as a Director for several of Norfund’s renewable project SPVs. He also serves on the advisory board of then Future Energy East Africa conference, and was a member of the Presidential Investment Roundtable for the Ugandan Energy Sector up to 2018, representing the private sector in the Uganda Investment Board appointed Technical Working Group.

Before joining Norfund, he was the Managing Director of a hydro power generation company operating the Bugoye HPP in Uganda. He also held the MD position with two other project companies developing run off river hydro power projects in Uganda. Inge Stølen is a qualified electrical engineer and holds a Master of Science degree from the Norwegian Institute of Technology, Department of Power Engineering, Trondheim, Norway. Inge Stølen also served as Chairman of the Trondheim Group of Norwegian Electro Technical Association.

Before joining the international renewable energy team of TrønderEnergi AS in 2009, Inge Stølen worked for more than 20 years for a diverse range of utility related organizations, including Norwegian utility companies and international service providers for the utility industry. Inge Stølen is no stranger to international business, having spent 10 years in international business development in Europe, North America and South East Asia with the Norwegian utility software company Powel AS.

Drawing on several years of experience in both utility operations and project development, Inge Stølen now puts his combined technical and commercial experience into renewable energy project evaluation and development in South East Asia.
